LA SALETTE CHURCH

La Salette ChurchThis is the first Roman Catholic Church (1866). This is oldest Shrine in Kodaikanal with the colour of Blue and White. You will have to walk up a flights of steps to enter the church, look for the three funeral markers in the porch that date back to 1900. Don't miss the blue tank of holy water at the side.

Salette Matha is the mother of kodai. It is most familiar church here. In the middle of August, grant festival is celebrated for matha. During this celebration time the kodai is croweded with full of tourist. It's a big task to walk on the road, people from all over the world come to kodai to exhibit this function.


ST. PETER'S CHURCH

This Church is situated between Coaker's Walk and St. Mary's Road, it belongs to the Church of South India (C.S.I). Services are held in English. During the season, morning and evening services are held every sunday. During other months, only morning services are held.

THE UNION CHURCH

Union ChurchThis is also a C.S.I. Church. Tamil Services are held throughout the year. This Church is located near the entrance to Coaker's Walk.

THE MOUNT ZION CHURCH

This Church is situated in the Loch End Compound. Tamil services are held every sunday, English services are held during the season.

SACRED HEART CHURCH

This Roman Catholic Parish Church is Situated near Munjikal. Mass is conducted every day, both in morning and the evening. The service is in Tamil.

THE MARGARET EDDY MEMORIAL CHURCH

This Church is in the Kodaikanal International School compound. As this church is essentially for the School staff and students, Services are held only when school is in session.

PRESENTATION CONVENT CHURCH

This Roman Catholic Church is situated in the compound of the Presentation Convent High School. Daily Mass is said and service is in English.

KURINJI ANDAVAR TEMPLE

Kurinchi Andavar TempleThis is a famous shrine dedicated to Lord Muruga. In Tamil literature Kurinji means 'hill region' and Andavar means 'God'. Hence Lord Muruga is referred as 'God of hill'. This temple is associated with the Kurinji flowers, which carpets at hill sides and blooms once in 12 years. Since the hilly flower Kurinji is grown at the most, this temple is referred as the Kurinji Andavar.

This is around 3 km from the lake. It has a colorful mandapam over the gateway that leads to a main hall. The temple is dedicated to Shiva in his avatar as Murugan and it is the largest temple in Kodaikanal.


MARIAMMAN TEMPLE

It is located near the Munjikal area. Now this temple slowly started to grow up in the minds of people in tamil nadu. This temple construction is architecturally admirable in hill station.
